Staff Spotlight

Precious Valentine

Precious Valentine

Key Holder, Boomerangs Jamaica Plain

What do you like most about working at Boomerangs?
Boomerangs has a very diverse and well-rounded staff. It's a melting pot.

Why do you think Boomerangs' mission to support AIDS Action Committee's HIV/AIDS programs and services is important?
My great grandfather passed away from AIDS. There's a lot of people still unaware of the virus, how to get help, and how to prevent possible infection.

Phil Babcock

Phil Babcock

Store Manager, Boomerangs Central Square

What do you like most about working at Boomerangs?
It's a tie between feeling like I've been a net positive to the world at the end of every day and the awesome people I work with.

What has been your greatest thrift find at Boomerangs?
Two 3/4 scale guitars came in not too long ago and I grabbed one of them. That thing is a blast. Also, the riding gloves I've been using for the past year, I got at Boomerangs.

Edwin Perry

Edwin Perry

Dedham Warehouse Key Holder

What do you like most about working at Boomerangs?
I love everything about this place: the people, the mission, the respect and compassion I feel from everyone on the team and from the company as a whole. It's hard work and I adore it.

Tell us a bit about your interests/hobbies. Do they ever influence your work at Boomerangs?
I'm really interested in art, design, clothing, video games, and of course my community, as a gay trans man! I wouldn't say these interests influence my work, but rather that this work supplements my interests. I am constantly learning.
